[edit] Overview
Phoenix successfully wins an acquittal for his first client and begins to look for clues as to why he's back in the past.
Accidentally running into a tall man, Phoenix quickly apologizes to the stranger. The well-built man seems to be a defense attorney as well, and recognizes Wright almost too quickly. The two have a short, yet stimulating conversation. Phoenix finds out the man's name, which appears to be Kyle Duske. He learns another shocking detail as well, Duske was the defense attorney in the SL-9 case!
So, you were the one! The one who defended Joe Darke...
Yes, I hear you were the attorney for the following trial, no?
As much as Phoenix wanted to hear more, it was getting dark, and if he was going to investigate, he had to do it now. However, he promised Duske that they would talk again, so he could learn the dark secrets of the SL-9 case.
Leaving Duske behind, he eventually runs into a face that's all too familiar...
"Hey Nick! It's good to see you!"
The two friends head back to Phoenix's office, where they had planned to catch up and talk.
As they headed into the dark office, a shocking event had occurred.
Kyle Duske, defense attorney for Joe Darke, was on the floor of the office, dead from a knife wound in his shoulder.
Investigators show up very quickly, when nearby neighbors hear Maya's screams and call the police. Maya Fey is immediately arrested for the murder.
